Play Dough Fun...

Jaden and Mikayla are devastated because their best friends in the whole world are moving next week. Carson and Caleb live across the street from us, and my kids keep a pretty sharp eye on their house and car... it is almost verging on stalking, because Kayla and Jaden know exactly when they leave and when they come home... anyway, in honor of the kids I made a video of the 4 of them playing... I just wanted to post Jaden and his "penguo" but I couldn't edit the video... sorry its a little long, but its cute just the same!

SNOW?!?!?!

ok... I am not dreaming, right?? it IS spring... like, almost MAY?? the other day I left the house to pick up Mikayla at the bus stop and had to RUN the whole way, because it was snowing so hard!! it felt like we were on the verge of a blizzard! Today the high was 82, and tomorrow the high is going to be in the 40's and snowing AGAIN! PLEASE STOP!! I could really use some spring weather!! its no wonder my kids keep getting sick!

MMM! Cereal!

Well, this is a first for us... our baby Jax got two teeth before I got around to starting him on cereal... he is such a good little eater... he fits right in around here! he just took right to the spoon. I can always tell when he wants to eat cereal, because he bites the nipple on his bottle instead of sucking! Pretty smart, and it beats screaming until I figure it out!! I think he has figured out that Mom can be a little slow sometimes, so he is finding alternate ways of communicating with me... if I'd known that was all it took, I would have started with Kayla!!

This is my life...

well, friends and family... I think I hit a new low for having a bad day today! Brian asked me to go to Wal-Mart to get the oil changed in the car. Unfortunatley I had to take Jaden and Jaxson with me... so I am struggling up to the front of the store carrying Jax in his car seat and trying to keep an eye on Jaden, when I notice that Jaden seems to really need to use the bathroom. (for all who do not know, Jaden has been having some "regression" issues since Jax was born, like potty accidents and needing to sleep with Mommy.) So I start to panic and make us all walk faster... cause there is nothing worse than knowing you have to be in a store for 2 hours with no car to take you home and having your 3 year old pee in aisle 3 of the local store! so we run up to the front of the store and I send Jaden in to go potty (I had found a lone basket, miracle, and I did not want to leave Jax outside alone) so I send in Jaden and he comes back out crying cause he is afraid the toilet is going to flush!!!!!!! (yep we are back to that one too!) well, by now he REALLY needs to go, so I run in there with him and he is screaming and fighting me, so I yank his pants down (figuring we can get him therapy later, I guess!) and I go to jump him on the potty, and what do you know?? My cell phone goes FLYING through the air and right into the toilet... HOLY COW!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? so yes I had to stick my hand into the toilet to get it out before Jaden peed on it. I came out of the stall with my hand and phone dripping with toilet water and there is this girl standing there trying not to laugh, and all she can say is "That really sucks!" UH, YEAH!!! so anyways, to conclude the drama production for the evening... I have no phone so don't call me, and I need EVERYONES cell and home numbers again, because all my info was stored on my phone not my SIM card!! I figure Bri will get sick of not beong able to call me and eventually get me a new phone... UGH! what a day!!

well, the closest book to me at the computer desk (besides one fish two fish red fish blue fish... gosh that guy must have been insane when he wrote that!!) is "The Baby Book" and unfortunatley that is the chapter on breastfeeding, and I am not sure we all need a lesson so I am going to keep looking... (honestly Tiff, I tried to play by the rules!!) OK, on the other side of the desk is my new book "250 Ways To Connect With Your Family" ( I love that Utah Wal-Marts have church books!!) and the 5th sentence says:
"No matter how old your children are, your example and your testimony will be of great significance to them."

Unfortunatley I do not know 5 people with a blog, other than the same people Tiff tagged, (all my friends are on Facebook!) so I will ask Jan to pass this fun stuff along!

regressing and progressing

well, we have good news and bad news... Baby Jax has finally got his 5th disease rash...I guess he couldn't be outdone by his siblings. And just to show he is no weakling he also has had a really bad cough that has turned into RSV... AGAIN. Yes I know this is his 3rd bout with it in his short 4 month life... I am starting to wonder what the deal is! the good news is that he is getting his two bottom front teeth. So all in all, not a great week for Baby Jax (or Mommy!)

new hair...

Well, I am learning that kids pick up very random, sometimes offensive and often gross habits and ideas from the other kids at school... Our Miss Mikayla learned from a girl at school about "chewing" on her hair... As you all know she has really long pretty hair, so she can really get a big mouthful! No matter how often Brian and I told her to stop, she just couldn't seem to break the habit... so the result is... SHORT HAIR! technically she can still get it to her mouth, but I just couldn't go any shorter!! and besides, she hasn't realized yet that she can still get it in! The goal here is to break the habit by the time it grows back, but she really loves her "flippy" new hairdo!! and Mom thinks its pretty nifty too... it takes 2 seconds to brush it out in the morning, and any mom with girls knows that you gotta love that!

Party Time!!

We went to the funnest ward party tonight! It was a "luau" at the church... we had flower lei's and we all got to pick new "hawaiian" names and everyone had to call eachother by that name... Bri was Hiwahiwa, Kayla was Kiele, Jadens was Ka Pua (cause we call him poo head anyway! he LOVED his name!) and Macie was Ailani... they served "hawaiian burgers" with pineapple on it. I almost took mine off, but I am glad I didn't cause it was soo good! the pineapple was the best part!! also we had a group (I think from BYU) that performed a bunch of diffrent polynesian dances from Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga and New Zeland... The kids loved the dancing... Mikayla kept getting up to dance, and she thought it was hilarious that the guys didn't wear shirts... you could hear her laughing over the music... and the music was LOUD! It was sooo much fun, I am glad I bossed everyone into getting ready to go... we really had a great time. (and we even got to take home the centerpiece on our table, a big fresh pineapple!!)

5th Disease!!!

Well, our latest "drama" is that we have 5th disease making the rounds in our house... (called so because its the 5th most common childhood virus after measels, chicken pox etc...) Jaden got it first, but we didn't even know he was sick until he got a rash on his face... a few days later the rash was ALL OVER. so we took him to the doc and she confirmed 5th disease... but Jaden had never even mentioned feeling sick... so I thought well, if Kayla gets it we will DEFINITLEY know. she is so dramatic about everything, I figured she would be pretty vocal about it... well, she has recently broken out in a rash, and never made a word of complaint!! so I guess if your kids have to get a "disease", you should hope for this one... they don't even get sick!!! I guess thats why there is not a vaccine for it, huh?? the pic is of Jaden with the rash on his cute face...

Brian's Birthday

Well, Brian had his birthday and he actually survived the 1st day of being 30!! He was really really depressed and upset about being so "old"... we had a fun day though... after school we opened presents had birthday cake and our neighbor watched the kids so we could go out to dinner... unfortunatley, we forgot it was not only friday night, but friday night on Confrence weekend!! talk about a long wait for a table!!
